This Privacy Policy explains the information that Storyca may collect when you interact with us and our practices with respect to that information. Storyca is operated by OWEGO INKFLOW LIMITED (registered in the United Kingdom) and OWEGO CO., LIMITED (registered in Hong Kong) (collectively, "Storyca", "we", "us", or "our"). Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. In addition, please review the applicable Terms of Use, which governs your use of the Storyca platform and services.
By using Storyca, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please discontinue use of the Platform.
1. Data Collection
In order to help you create an account with Storyca and use our Platform, we need to collect and process some Personal Information. "Personal Information" is any information that can identify you. The categories of information we collect include:
Account Data: When you register, we may collect your username, email address, age range, gender, and authentication credentials (including identifiers from third-party sign-in providers such as Apple or Google) to personalize content and manage your account.
Device & Technical Data: We automatically collect IP addresses, mobile advertising identifiers (such as GAID on Android and IDFA on iOS), device model, operating system version, language and region settings, network type, and crash diagnostics.
Listening & Usage Information: We collect data related to your use of the Services, including playback history, listening duration, playback progress (chapter and timestamp position), playback speed preferences, bookmarks, favorites, search queries, content recommendations interacted with, and ad engagement data (such as advertisements viewed in exchange for listening credits).
Offline Download Records: For subscribers using the offline download feature, we record metadata regarding which titles have been cached on your device to manage subscription entitlements and content availability.
Transaction Data: For in-app purchases and subscriptions, transactions are processed by third-party providers (Apple App Store, Google Play). We retain records of transaction IDs, subscription status, purchase timestamps, and amounts to credit your account and manage entitlements. We do not store full credit card numbers or banking credentials.
Communications: When you contact customer support, we retain the content of your communications and related metadata to respond to your inquiries.
We use the Personal Information to:
- Identify you across the Platform;
- Make age-appropriate content available to you;
- Provide technical support services;
- Communicate with you (e.g., letting you know about upcoming changes or improvements);
- Send you marketing emails, unless you opt out;
- Calculate aggregate and anonymized statistics to better understand our users, improve our Services, develop new features, and personalize your listening discovery experience;
- Prevent spam, fraud, abuse, and other prohibited activity (particularly related to ad-supported listening credits);
- Display relevant, tailored advertisements and improve your ad experience, except where your separate consent is required;
- Operate, secure, develop, and improve our Services.
2. AI-Generated Content and Voice Data
Storyca's audio content is primarily generated using artificial intelligence text-to-speech and voice synthesis technologies. We want to be transparent about how this relates to your personal data:
- No Voice Collection from Users: Storyca does not collect, record, or process your voice. The App does not require microphone access for its core functionality.
- AI Voice Models: The synthetic voices used in Storyca's audio catalog are generated from licensed or proprietary AI voice models. These voices do not represent your personal voice data and are not derived from any data you provide.
- Listening Behavior for Recommendations: Your listening data may be processed by automated systems to generate personalized content recommendations. This processing is described in Section 1 above.
3. Information Sharing
3.1 We treat the Personal Information described above as private by default. It will not be displayed on the Platform or revealed to other Storyca users unless the data has been anonymized or aggregated.
3.2 We do not rent or sell your personally identifying information to other companies or individuals for monetary consideration, except with your consent or in the following limited situations:
- To comply with applicable law (including investigations of any crime), regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request;
- To enforce or apply our Terms of Use and other policies, including investigation of potential violations;
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of Storyca, Storyca's employees and users, or the public.
3.3 We may share information with the following categories of recipients:
Service Providers: With trusted third-party partners who assist with app hosting (cloud infrastructure providers), content delivery networks (CDN), analytics, customer support, crash reporting, and authentication. These providers are contractually bound to process data only on our instructions.
Payment Processors: With Apple App Store and Google Play for processing subscription payments and in-app purchases.
Advertising Partners: We share advertising identifiers (GAID/IDFA), IP addresses, and limited engagement data with advertising networks to deliver advertisements, including rewarded video ads. Our advertising partners may include, but are not limited to, Google AdMob, Meta Audience Network, Unity Ads, ironSource, AppLovin, and similar mobile advertising platforms. These partners have their own privacy policies governing their use of such data.
Analytics Providers: With analytics service providers (such as Firebase, Google Analytics, or similar) to understand aggregate usage patterns. Where possible, data shared for analytics is pseudonymized or aggregated.
Corporate Transactions: In connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business, Personal Information may be transferred to the relevant party, subject to applicable confidentiality and legal protections.
4. International Data Transfers
Storyca operates from the United Kingdom and Hong Kong, and your information may be transferred to, processed, and stored in countries other than your country of residence, including the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, the United States, Singapore, and the European Union, depending on the location of our service providers.
For transfers of personal data originating in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
5. Data Retention

- Fraud-prevention records: For as long as necessary to investigate and prevent fraudulent activity.
When data is no longer needed, we will delete or anonymize it in accordance with our internal data retention policies.
6. Information Security
We continuously implement and update physical, organizational, contractual, and technological security measures to protect your Personal Information from loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification. Access to Personal Information is restricted to employees with a business "need-to-know" basis or whose duties reasonably require such information. We support encryption on all transmissions to protect Personal Information submitted on our Platform (TLS/HTTPS), and sensitive data is encrypted at rest.
No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

- Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: We do not use sensitive Personal Information for purposes that would trigger this right.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.
To exercise these rights, contact us at CollectVision@collectvision.app. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
10. Children's Privacy
Storyca is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EEA, or the equivalent minimum age in other jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us at CollectVision@collectvision.app, and we will take steps to delete such information.
11. Non-Personal Information
11.1 Storyca uses cookies, tracking pixels, advertising identifiers, and similar technologies on our Platform to collect information that cannot identify you as an individual ("non-personal information"). This helps us provide the Service, learn how the Service is used, deliver promotional messages, and measure the effectiveness of advertisements for Storyca products and services.
11.2 We may share non-personal information publicly and with various third parties, including advertising partners. For example, we may share information with advertisers about general usage trends on our Platform.
12. Third-Party Advertisers and Advertising Technologies
12.1 Storyca allows third-party advertising networks (including but not limited to Google AdMob, Meta Audience Network, Unity Ads, ironSource, and AppLovin) to serve advertisements within the Storyca Platform, including rewarded video advertisements that allow you to earn listening credits. These third-party ad servers or ad networks use technology to send advertisements directly to your device. They automatically receive your IP address and may use other technologies (such as cookies, JavaScript, software development kits (SDKs), or web beacons) to measure ad effectiveness and personalize the advertising content you see.
12.2 To provide you with personalized ads, we share certain information with these third parties, such as your IP address, GAID/IDFA, device model and OS version, country code, and network type. We do not sell any of your Personal Information to anyone for monetary consideration. We impose contractual restrictions on how our partners may use and disclose the information we provide.
12.3 Storyca does not provide personally identifying information (such as your name or email address) to third-party ad servers or ad networks without your consent, except as part of a specific program or feature for which you have the ability to opt in or opt out.
12.4 Managing Your Preferences:
- iOS Users: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, or Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising.
- Android Users: Settings > Google > Ads, where you can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized advertising.
12.5 You should consult the respective privacy policies of these third-party ad servers or ad networks for more information on their practices and for instructions on how to opt out of certain practices. Storyca's Privacy Policy does not apply to, and we cannot control the activities of, such other advertisers or platforms.
13. Links to Other Platforms
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, services, or advertisements that are not operated by us. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any Personal Information.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Storyca reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or by other reasonable means before they take effect. Non-material updates will be effective immediately upon posting within the App. Your continued use of Storyca after such updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
15. E-Mail Communications
By providing Storyca your email address, you consent to us sending you Service-related notices, including any notices required by law, in lieu of communication by postal mail. We may also use your email address to send you other messages, such as newsletters, changes to features, or special offers ("Other Messages"). If you do not want to receive Other Messages, you may opt out by changing your email preferences in the App account settings or by following the unsubscribe instructions in any marketing email. Opting out may prevent you from receiving emails regarding updates, improvements, or offers, but you may not opt out of Service-related emails.
16. Applicable Law
We are committed to protecting your Personal Information, and the rights set out in this Policy reflect your rights under applicable laws.
Applicable laws for the purpose of this Policy include: (a) the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 (as amended); (b) the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679); (c) the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486 of the Laws of Hong Kong); (d) the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA); and (e) any other applicable data protection laws or regulations.

In certain circumstances, local laws of these jurisdictions may, by way of their application, afford rights to a user in respect of the Personal Information they provide to us. We anticipate that the rights set out in this Policy also provide you with such protection in relation to your Personal Information.
17. Privacy Compliance Statement (Hong Kong)
We are committed to protecting your Personal Information in accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486, Laws of Hong Kong).
